Our Freckles Kindy and Learning Centre in Highfields is family owned and operated and provides a holistic approach to early learning.
With the owners being born and raised in Toowoomba and having lived the past 20 years in the Highfields and surrounding areas, we have a very local approach to understanding the needs of our families, and in particular, our little Freckles. Our educators are dedicated to providing quality care and learning programs that are play based and developed for each individual child using the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards. Our Centre is purpose built with quality indoor and outdoor facilities to ensure the children have the best possible early learning environment to continue to grow and develop in a nurturing and caring learning space.

Our highly qualified educators create a co-learning environment where children feel safe to explore their curiosity and develop the confidence for life-long success. We offer many extra-curricular activities to ensure that your child has exposure to a vast array of opportunities, including a sporting program, and a music and movement program. Being perfectly positioned in the hub of Highfields, close to local schools and shopping centres makes our Highfields centre the ideal location for convenience for our busy families. We welcome all families to attend our Centre and meet our wonderful educators and take a tour of our homely facility. Our open-door policy helps foster robust family partnerships and a supportive community. At Freckles Kindy and Learning Centre Highfields, we aim for every child to feel loved, safe and secure, and confident to discover their infinite potential.

Conveniently Opened from 6.30am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), allowing our families working in town time to make the trip to Highfields after a busy day!

FAQ

What are your opening hours?
We’re open 52 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday. We are only closed on public holidays.
How do I decide if you’re the right centre for my child?
The best way to make your decision is to book in for a tour. A tour allows you to get a feel for the place & our educators. Plus, we can answer all your questions.
How can families participate?
We encourage families to collaborate with our educators on your child’s early learning program. This might involve telling us about their activities outside of the centre or informing us of your child’s likes & preference. This continuity between home & early learning enhances your child learning & development.
We practice a different culture than many people in Australia, how can this be incorporated into my child’s learning?
There are many rich and vibrant blends of cultures and backgrounds and experiences in our Freckles centres. When your family joins us, we want to know about you. By building strong relationships we can individualise learning experiences to better suit your child’s culture. We encourage inclusion.
What’s the procedure for pick-up & drop-off?
Our centres have adopted the KIOSK method for the accuracy & safety of arrivals & departures. Parents and Guardians (or the authorised adult) are required by law to note the time of arrival/departure of their child from the centre and to sign each entry.
Do you have a minimum number of days my child has to attend?
No, minimum days are required however we recommend a minimum of two days care. We believe your child will benefit from building strong trusting relationships with their educators and peers and settle in more quickly the more frequently they attend.
How much do I pay?
With the Child Care Subsidy Gap Fee you could pay from as low as $18/day. Contact us to confirm your rate after the Childcare Subsidy.
What do I need to bring on my child’s first day?

Your child will need a spare change of clothing, a sunhat and a water bottle. We supply all meals, nappies & sunscreen. For families who have littles ones in the nursery please bring bottles and formula/breast milk and if a comforter, such as pacifiers, blanket or soft toys, is required please feel free to bring this along too.
